$133,459 : Cost of a four-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot house in Souix City, Iowa, the nation's most affordable housing market.
$1,841,667 : Cost of the same size house in La Jolla, California, the most expensive market (and the beach city featured at the bottom of this post).
That's why we live in Minnesota.

Isn't the Midwest wonderful?!

ReplyDeleteThat is one of the reason's I love Minnesota! In CA our house would go for 10 times what we are paying for it. It is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI heard the other day that house prices in CA have dropped 40%.
ReplyDelete*cough* movetocolorado *cough*
ReplyDeleteMy brother and wife bought a 2 bed, 2 bath, decent basement & deck (no idea sq footage) in New Ulm for $84,000 last year. Sickens me.
ReplyDeleteCurrently my hubby and I are relocating to Clarksburg, WV area, where housing is a lot lower too. (Major reason we left the DC area and PTL we did NOT buy there!)
